As part of the telemedicine benefit, your regional contractor has established a network of providers who can evaluate, treat, and refer you as necessary. Telemedicine can be done using live audio and video or audio-only services.
Referrals and Pre-Authorization
As with any behavioral health care received from a TRICARE network provider, active duty service members will need a referral before getting care under the telemental health benefit.
TRICARE Prime active duty family members and retirees don’t need a referral or authorization to get telemental health care.
To Request Telemental Health Services
- East Region: Call Humana Military at 800-444-5445.
- West Region: Call TriWest Healthcare Alliance at 888-TRIWEST (874-9378).
- Overseas: Call International SOS using your country-specific toll-free number.
